RENTER RATING:
 by Tammy Schoppet
There is not doubt that the concepts presented by Lauri Ward in this newest book fit right in line of a "renters lifestyle". Her decorating process makes a do-it-yourself makeover doable for every renter who already has "stuff", but just doesn't know how to arrange or organize it. The "home therapist" for your interior ailments, Lauri diagnoses client spaces, describes the design mistakes being made and suggests a remedy. The well selected variety of clients makes this book user friendly for most spaces. She also includes before and after pictures showing how each space was "cured" and helps the reader to see the process she used to redesigning and refining each space. The best part of this book: Lauri didn't just stop after rearranging furnishings for her clients, she also included long-term recommendations they can use to enhance their "new" spaces further. Since this is not a step-by-step, how-to book, you may want to read her first book Use What You Have Decorating , to get a deeper understanding of the steps and concepts. We enjoyed this book! The designing elements used are clearly suitable for renters as it doesn't require purchasing all new furnishings, but shows how each space can be made to ook great by just using what you have!
