Student Rules
Regulations Relative To Decorating

This is a list of the type of general rules that come with Dorm living.  Each college has their own set of regulations so be sure to check with your administration for your specific situation.

Students are generally responsible for keeping their rooms clean, orderly and for any damage to the rooms or furnishings provided by the University.  Violations of this rule are usually met with strict fines, community service or  extraction from the facility.

University furniture may not be removed from the specific dormitory rooms or other social areas.
Some colleges provide furniture.  Some may not allow you to build loft-type beds or other structures basically for safety issues. These structures may include concrete block and other devices.

In most dorm facilities removable plastic adhesive should be used to attach decorations to the walls. This wall adhesive is generally provided in small supplies to students and it is easily available in home improvement stores. Use of nails or tape is for the most part not allowed.
Students are usually asked not to mar walls, doors and carpets.  Use of decals and contact paper should not be applied to walls, doors, windows, ceilings, and university room furnishings.

These are only but a few of the 100's of rules, but we think these will help you get on your way to creating an awesome dorm space!
