11 Quick Tips: Budget Office Decoration In Your Rented Home

You are in rented accommodation but you still need to make your work space productive. Shopping and searching around while being smart about it, can reap you many rewards. Here are 11 tips to do just that!

1. Measure up!

Measure twice, and you won't have any problems fitting in any treasures that you find, such as furniture or equipment.

2. Back to basic training.

Be sure to start off with the essentials only, and angle upwards from there. Cogitate on what every piece will be used for, as well as how much it will be used.

3. Get handy and do-it-yourself.

Everyone can usually do several simple things themselves, but if what you need to do is complicated or possibly dangerous, you can hire a licensed contractor or handyman (or woman).

4. Pick it up for free!

Try not to pay delivery charges by picking up the item and taking it home yourself, or by getting the store to cover any costs.

5. Buy your furniture off the Internet.

There's bargains to be had on the WWW. You don't have to buy second hand, and most reputable companies on the web give you free delivery and easy returns.

6. Make your own picture frames.

You can always buy a cheap print with a nice frame from a thrift store, and put your own photograph or painting in it.

7. DIY shelving.

Many kits are available for shelving or bookcases etc. they often come complete with hardware, and the nicest shelf is one called floating -- where none of the brackets show.

8. Visit a market for fleas.

You can get some amazing finds at flea markets, garage sales, and consignment stores. Rejuvenating a piece of furniture is often quite easy.

9. Colour coordinate your office.

Don't let your colours clash or else you could get a headache, or even frayed nerves. Try and use coordinating colours in your decorating scheme.

10. Buy bargains at auction.

Check your newspaper or library for postings about auctions. Keep your budget in your mind and don't go over it. You can get some great bargains.

11. Keep checking for rebates and sales.

These can help tremendously towards lowering the cost of your computer equipment. Often, online prices are cheaper. Your home office should be productive, inspiring, and pleasant to be in. With these tips there is no excuse!
